Lil Wayne’s Jail Time Is An ‘Eye-Opener,’ Young Jeezy Says

Posted By bolodosqui in Entertainment

Now that Lil Wayne has been sentenced to one year in prison following several delays, the reality is setting in for his fans and friends. No one in the hip-hop community wants to see Weezy leave, and rappers also realize they need to run tighter ships in Wayne’s absence.

Young Jeezy said he’ll not only miss Wayne’s work ethic and music, but also his friend’s rebellious attitude.

“Wayne, like I like to call myself, is a trap-aholic,” Young Jeezy told MTV News last week in New York, hours before he brought Weezy onstage at Madison Square Garden as a surprise guest during Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 Tour. That performance — which also included Nicki Minaj and Drake — would be Wayne’s last before he went to jail.

“He stays in the studio, he stays working,” the Snowman added. “We’ll definitely miss that. At the same time, we’ll definitely miss what he brings Read the rest of this entry »

Canadian doctor says HGH was for him

Posted By bolodosqui in Sports

TORONTO — A sports doctor at the center of drug investigations in Canada and the United States said Monday he treated Alex Rodriguez after the Yankees slugger had hip surgery last year and prescribed anti-inflammatories but not human growth hormone.

Dr. Anthony Galea also told The Associated Press an assistant who was stopped at the U.S.-Canadian border in Buffalo, N.Y., last year was carrying only a minuscule amount of HGH — which Galea said was for his own use. The doctor reiterated that he has never given the drug to an athlete.

“I only brought enough for her to do two injections into me because I was away for two nights,” said Galea, who believes authorities and the media have exaggerated the accusations involving Read the rest of this entry »

Queens Dad Charged With Brutal Attack on Infant Daughter

Posted By Extacy in National News, News

A Queens father accused of brutally attacking his 13-week-old daughter while babysitting her faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.

Juan Gomez, 23, of Ozone Park, allegedly inflicted a series of injuries on his infant child. The child was taken to Schneider Children’s Hospital last week with bruises to her chest and eye, a healing fracture in her foot, a fractured ankle, a healing fractured to the lower leg, a bite mark to the right leg, 17 fractured ribs, a lacerated liver and difficulty breathing due to a disruption to the lining of the lung. “The extent of the physical injuries that this innocent and helpless child suffered in just the first few weeks of her life is beyond comprehension,” said Queens District Attorney Richard Brown. “That they were allegedly committed by her father boggles the mind. This case will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” District Attorney Brown said that, according to the charges, Gomez took care of his daughter, Hailey, while the infant’s mother worked. Toward the end of January, he was alone with Hailey and became frustrated because she would not stop crying, according to the charges. Read the rest of this entry »

Donate Your Old Jeans for a Good Cause!

Posted By Extacy in News

We know you own a lot of denim. So when you tire of those blue jeans, don’t just throw them in the trash. Gap recognized the fact that many people own multiple pairs of jeans, which adds up to a huge waste. So, in an effort to reduce and reuse, the brand teamed up with Cotton Incorporated to help the charity, Cotton: From Blue to Green, which takes old denim, turns it into UltraTouch Natural Cotton Fiber Insulation, and then donates it to those in need. From today until March 14, drop off your jeans at 1,000 stores in North America and Puerto Rico to donate your old jeans to a good cause. Of course, you’ll not only feel good about your charity work, but you’ll also receive a shopping incentive—30 percent off your next purchase of jeans!

Lakers Talk Over Their Issues

Posted By Extacy in Sports

Phil Jackson
had seen enough, so he turned Saturday’s scheduled practice into a miniature version of a clear-the-air meeting.

The Lakers had been stumbling, losers of two consecutive games to quasi-.500 teams, making it an appropriate time to let players vent about their porous defense in the hopes they could turn it around before their game Sunday against the Orlando Magic.

Kobe Bryant provided reporters with only a few scant words about what he said, though he still seemed annoyed as he sat on the bottom step of the bleachers at tiny Rollins College, ice bags on each knee.

Did he talk to his teammates, as he pledged to do in the wake of an embarrassing 98-83 loss Friday in Charlotte? Read the rest of this entry »

Golf News: Villegas Still the Leader After 3 Rounds at Honda Classic

Posted By Extacy in Sports

Ashes fell from the sky, smoke filled the air and a thick haze hovered over PGA National.

Some might have found breathing difficult at the Honda Classic.

Camilo Villegas wasn’t among them.

Once threatening to run away after a sizzling start, Villegas came back to the pack on his back nine and wound up rallying to take a three-shot lead over Nathan Green and Vijay Singh after three rounds. Villegas is at 11-under 199, so even after making three bogeys in a five-hole stretch in what became a round of 67, he’ll be the one to catch on Sunday.

“I’m sleeping in my own bed this week, which is always nice,” said Villegas, one of many tour players who call South Florida home. “I’ve been nice and relaxed. So we’ll show up tomorrow the same way and try to play some good golf.” Read the rest of this entry »
